Need for regular permits for the route in question – Temporary permits not to be issued any more – All temporary permits shall come to an end after four months – Immediate steps to be taken to grant regular permits.
1. If the Regional Transport Authorities have not been already constituted they shall be constituted within 10 days from today in the State of Uttar Pradesh. If the Petitioner makes an appli-cation for temporary permit he may be granted temporary permit if it is possible to grant it in accordance with law.
2. All the temporary permits which are granted in respect of the route in question and which are in force today including the temporary permit which may be granted to the petitioner herein-after shall come to an end at the end of four months from today. the Regional Transport Authority, Merrut is directed not to issue any more temporary permits since it is not disputed that there is a need for granting regular permits. Immediate steps, shall however, be taken to grant such regular permits on the route in question.
3. The Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly.
