Habeas Corpus – Girl missing – Police making every effort to trace the girl – Issuance of writ of habeas corpus not called for.
1. In view of the counter affidavit filed by the Inspector General of Police, CID, Uttar Pradesh, it is quite evident that every effort has been made by the police to trace out the missing girl. The investigation was entrusted by the Secretary to the Government, Home Department, U.P. to the CID, Crime Branch. The Inspector of Crime Branch in his final report dated May 19, 1986 revealed that the girl was still untraced.
2. No interference by this Court under Art. 32 of the Constitution for the issuance of a writ of habeas corpus at this stage is called for. The petition is accordingly dismissed.
