Premature release – Convict undergoing life imprisonment for the last 21 years – State Govt. directed to consider the case for premature release.
JUDGEMENT:
O R D E R
The State Govt. has not filed any counter affidavit. It is stated that Ramesh Chandra the father of the petitioners has been detained in Central Jail Fatehgarh, District Farukhabad and that he is undergoing imprisonment for life from the last 21 years. The petitioners submit that Ramesh Chandra is entitled to be released prematurely. We therefore direct the State Govt. to consider the case of Ramesh Chandra for premature release within two months. The State Govt. shall submit the copy of the order passed in respect of the convict in question to this court within nine weeks. The petition is accordingly disposed of.
